This mold is one of the biggest disease
causing molds on Earth. Breathing in its spores can cause major
lung infections. If it gets into the blood stream major blood
vessel diseases can result. Death is not an uncommon occurrence
with this mold, especially among people with weakened immune
systems such as people with AIDS and people undergoing
chemotherapy. This mold also produces toxins such as Ochratoxin
A and Aflatoxin that have been proven to cause cancer.

One of the strangest side affects of
this mold is "seeing things" such as rats when there are no rats
present. This is due to the presence of toxins, which can mix up
nerves and cause improper signals to be sent to the brain.
