- Tinea capitis and tinea corporis can become epidemic among kids.

In immune suppressed individuals Microsporum can become invasive and create
life threatening problems.
- Mycetoma have been reported in immune suppressed individuals.

Like most molds, Microsporum looks for open wounds and breaks in lining and
settles into infections. It is common with Athlete's foot. Once it settles, rashes
and severe irritations are very common.
- Microsporum lives in moist areas and feeds off of plants.
